Thomas Payne Gray was born 19 August 1880 in Fleming County, Kentucky to Fielden W. and Mariah (Crawford) Gray. He died 4 February 1931. He married Della Boyd, daughter of Charles S. and Nancy (Hoover) Boyd, 24 December 1907. Their children were Lucille Emma, Eugene Boyd, Estin Payne and Marion Thomas Gray.

THOMAS GRAY DIES AT POPLAR PLAINS

Thomas Payne Gray, 50 years old, well known farmer of Fleming county, died early Wednesday morning at his home in Poplar Plains after a brief illness of typhoid fever and pneumonia.

Mr. Gray had been in ill health more than a week with typhoid when he developed pneumonia. He was a substantial citizen and was highly admired by his many friends and neighbors for his many fine traits and as a sound business man.

He is survived by his wife and four children; three sisters, Miss Kate and Miss Annie Gray of Flemingsburg, Mrs.[Elizabeth] James Rawlings of Craintown and two brothers, Walter Gray of Dayton, O. and Fred Gray of California.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by Rev. Bourland from the residence at Poplar Plains. Burial was made in the Fleming county cemetery.
