I am seeking information on Maichel Groves and his wife Cinthy Callahan. They were the parents of my 2GGrandmother Mary Ann Groves, Wife of John Ellet McCarty (lived in Fleming Co 1850). Also seeking info on William Mason Collins and his wife Ellenor L. McCord, parents of my 2GGrandmother Patty Collins, wife of John Bush McCarty (lived in Fleming Co 1850). John Bush McCarty was killed near Hutchinson Station in Bourbon Co 16 July 1864. Family tradition said he was killed by the "Night Riders", but since this was ten days after John Hunt Morgans' raid at Mt Sterling, there is a possibility that he could have been killed by some of those troops, or even possible have been one of Morgans' men. I am researching several Fleming Co families and will share info. Families include: Courtney, Helphinstine, Doyle, McCarty, Reeves, Morrison and Dayton.

Need information on any of the following MURPHYs who migrated from Mayslick, Mason County, KY>OH in the early 1900. I need both Kentucky and Ohio research. These MURPHYs are of African-American and European heritage: Alexander MURPHY and his wife, Emily (?) had seven children: MARY in 1847, PERRY in 1849, MELVINIA in 1853, ROBERT in 1859, CHARLES in 1862, WILLIAM in 1865, and EMMA in 1867. All were born in Mayslick, Mason County, KY. Did Alexander and Emily make it to Ohio? I have a hunch that Emily made the move with some of the children to at least Cincinnati. I need information on the above-named children and their descendants. Perry, my gg-grandfather, married Elizabeth JOHNSON in Mayslick, KY., in 1873. The 2 had 4 children: Frances in 1873, Charles in 1875, Alexander in 1873, and John in 1879. Charles is my mother's grandfather, But I don't have much on his sister and brothers. I have a hunch they moved to Cincinnati. Robert, William and Charles moved to the Elyria/Oberlin/Springfield, Ohio areas. Robert & William are found in Oberlin and Elyria respectively. Charles is found in Springfield. I have completed the research on these three lines. Melvinia m. Thomas JONES in 1871. The two of them had 4 children. After the 1880 Mason county census, nothing is know about the whereabouts of this family after the 1880 census. Did they move to Ohio as well? Or stay in Fleming County, Kentucky? Emma was lasted reported in a 1934 OBIT of her brother's as living in Mt. Sterling, Montgomery county, KY. She is listed as Emma JOHNSON. Nothing else is known about her after that! Did she move back to Ohio? Mary m. Thomas BALL in 1875. The two of them had nine children, of which five were still living by the 1900 census. By the 1900, only five children are listed as still living: Mattie, Ida, Thomas, Jr., Erly(?), and Lula. Did this family join her brothers, Robert and William, in Elyria and/or Oberlin? Or Charles in Springfield, Ohio? Thomas is repoted in the 1910 Kentucky Census as a windower. ANY HELP on any of the above names will be appreciated!! Willing to PAY OR TRADE for research on the remaining lines. Any buckeyes who wish to help out a former buckeye, please feel free to contact me. I am formerly from Springfield, Ohio. I am primarily looking for information on the Davis'. My GGG Grandfather, Jarrett Davis was born in 1808 in Fleming Co. William died in St. Louis, MO in August of 1832. Nancy died a few years later, also in St. Louis. Jarrett married a Nancy Welch in Warren Co. Missouri; Nancy and her father, John Welch were born in KY, co unknown. I believe William Davis (Jarretts father) was the son of Jesse Davis and Elizabeth Hougham. William appears to also be from a family of 8 children born in KY. I am unsure of the Co, but I show William and Jesse in Fleming Co in the 1820 and 1830 Census records. Jesse's parents appear to be a Thomas Davis and ? Breeding. Jesse lived in Fleming Co, until 1 year before his death where he removed to and is buried in Rowan Co.
