PAYNE CEMETERY

Donations are needed for the restoration and upkeep of the Payne Cemetery.  It is located near Hillsboro at the junction of Hwy 158 and 1013s.  We are trying to have a fence built and then will work to upright the stones and pay for the maintenance.

The following  known graves are located there:
Mary Vansant Payne, Zadok Payne, James V. Payne, Amanda Payne, Mary E Payne, Amelia Jones, Sarah Freeman, Elizabeth “Betty” Day Vice, Simpson Vice, Morris Lyons, Drucilla Lyons, Charles Mcclanahan, George Washington Hudson, James T Hedges And William G. Daring.

"The fence is built, thanks to the Fleming County Fiscal Court, Fleming County Cemetery Board, and for donations made by the descendants.  Also, donations will continue to be accepted by Johnny "Jack" Vise for restoration and maintenance (all the stones down and almost all are damaged)."
